Welcome to South Pemba Region
The Regional Commissioner's Office South Pemba was established by Regional Administrative Authority Act of 1998 and its amendment of 2014, for the purpose of monitoring, supervising and assisting execution of the functions of the Central Government in the Region.
The core functions of the Regional Administration are to observe that Government policies, plans and directives of the Government are fully implemented. Furthermore, it's also responsible for maintenance of law and order in the Region in collaboration with the law enforcement agencies to ensure efficiency of Government business in the Region.
Southern Pemba Province is in southern Pemba Island. The province has an area of 409 square kilometers.
Geographical Location
Mkoa wa Kusini Pemba ni miongoni mwa Mikoa mitano ya Zanzibar, upo Kusini mwa kisiwa cha Pemba. Mkoa una kilomita za mraba 409 ambazo baadhi ya kilomita hizo zinatumika kwa makaazi ya wananchi, matumizi ya kilimo na mifugo na ukanda wa Mashariki unatoa rasilimali ya mawe ambayo yanatumika kwa shughuli mbali mbali ikiwa ni pamoja na ujenzi. Kwa upande wa Kaskazini Mkoa umepakana na Mkoa wa Kaskazini Pemba, upande wa Kusini, Magharibi na Mashiriki umepaka na Bahari ya Hindi.

Kwa mujibu wa Sensa ya watu na makaazi ya mwaka 2022, Mkoa una wakaazi wapatao 271,350. Kati ya hao, wanaume 131,373 na wanawake 139,977. Aidha, Mkoa una majimbo tisa (9) ya Uchaguzi, Wadi kumi na tisa (19) na Shehia sitini na nane(68). Kwa upande wa Serikali za mitaa, Mkoa una baraza la Manispaa Chake Chake na Baraza la Mji Mkoani.
